Rapid City Neighborhoods – Chapel Valley

Chapel Valley has become one of Rapid City’s most sought after neighborhoods.  With the surrounding trees and hills, you feel like you are in a Black Hills neighborhood…while not even being outside of town.  Walking distance to the Bike Path, Canyon Lake and Canyon Lake Park also adds to the appeal.

Homes in Chapel Valley were built in the 70s and early 80s.  And you’ll notice the architecture of the times on a number of homes – big vaulted ceilings, “Brady Bunch” stairs, plenty of windows and lots of wood.  Many homeowners have updated their homes to make them contemporary with that vintage look to boot.  Most were built larger – over 2,000 square feet with at least a one car garage.

You also find a number of condominium complexes…interestingly built UP and into the hillside.

Included in the neighborhood is a Pool Club House.  There is an HOA fee for access and maintenance to the Club house and common areas.

Chapel Valley includes Black Hills power, MDU natural gas, association water and city sewer.

Chapel Valley has a claim to fame, as well.  At the back of the neighborhood is Chapel in the Hills.  This Scandinavian Chapel features some amazing architecture and all wood construction.  They have events and services – perhaps you would like to get married here!

Just outside of Chapel Valley is Jackson Boulevard – heading back into town you’ll have access to restaurants, grocery stores, and general shopping within 10 minutes.  Or just a couple miles down Canyon Lake Drive is a Dairy Queen and neighborhood shopping center.
